The Philadelphia Headache Society is a professional organization dedicated to the advancement of headache medicine. Our mission is to promote education, research, and the dissemination of information related to the diagnosis and treatment of headaches. The society is made up of healthcare professionals, including neurologists, primary care physicians, nurses, and other specialists who have a special interest in the field of headache medicine. Our members work together to improve the care of patients with headaches and to increase public awareness about the burden of headache disorders. We host regular meetings and educational events to share the latest research and advances in the field, and we actively engage in advocacy efforts to improve access to care for headache sufferers.
Stephen D. Silberstein, MD, is a Professor of Neurology and the Director of the Jefferson Headache Center at Thomas Jefferson University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Neurology, and the American Headache Society. He has served the American Headache Society as President, Treasurer, and Board of Directors member. In 2016, he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Headache Society.
